Here's a few projects I've been working-just wanted to share:) 

I am really into sheep right now:)

I finally made a shepherd and a miniature sheep to go with the Nativities.

So sweet and tiny.

This is a little bit different-a big sheep doll:)  This is the wool from

Bittersweet Heritage Farm that I posted about last week.

I haven't listed any of these yet in my Etsy shop but will soon.

Bittersweet Heritage Farm

Last fall a friend gave to me the gift of two bags of wool that she had bought at a Farmer's Market near her home in Maine. I thought that was the most thoughtful gift she could ever give to me. I am starting to think I have a wool addiction:)  I have pondered for a while how best to use this precious wool and I finally made a little sheep and fell in love with him.  He just felt so perfect, in fact I can barely keep my hands off him because he feels so good to hold. 

As soon as I made two of these sheep I started to worry about whether or not I would be able to replace this wool when I ran out. (I know- pretty silly). So I did a little research and found that I could order online and get the same wool from the very same sheep, Sweet Pea. According to Dyan, the owner of the sheep from Bittersweet Heritage Farm, this wool has a higher (grease) content and is processed a little differently. (That's probably why I keep picking my sheep up and just holding it.) Her sheep are Romneys crossed with Merinos and if you go to her web site you can find out more about her 'girls'. I also recommend her facebook page-it is full of interesting farm events.

So I ordered two more bags of Sweet Pea's wool.

 Oh, and three bars of lavender soap.

I love how you get a picture of the sheep the wool came from. I am looking forward to trying all the

different rovings especially the brown wool from Maeve (just waiting for the shearer).  

Clay Blue Birds - A Friendly Flock

Spring is coming (I think) so I thought I would bring out my little flock of clay blue birds. Two of them are destined to be a part of a friendship gift box.

I noticed that I was starting to have quite a large flock of these birds. I will make  them
but they might not be just right for a project so they have to wait their turn to be used for
something special just for them.

My Kobito

I have a young friend, Callie who was my inspiration and helper in opening my Etsy shop. She helped me especially with the computer hurdles. Not yet twenty and she has a very successful Etsy shop 

(My Kobito) making clay charms for cell phones, computers or key chains. She also is an amazing anime artist. We did some trading and this week I received my charms.  After I sat and oohed and aahed over them I had to share all their cuteness.

Feltin' Fridays

I made some of these animals last spring but then sort of lost interest:(    Since then I have sold several elephants and squirrels so I got back into making them and added the raccoon and skunk that I hadn't made before the 'lost interest' event:)  Then it just flowed into why not add acorns and trees and that is how I ended up in the backyard playing with them on a rock (it helped that it was sunny and warm).

Normally I don't think black bears worry about owls being dangerous but this guy is very large.

Pineapple Afghan

I lost this book once and had to reorder it. It's getting pretty tattered.

I love the Early American pineapple symbol for hospitality. So imagine my excitement when I found out I could actually crochet this pineapple pattern.  Up until ten years ago I was mainly a Granny Square kind of person.  This will be my sixth pineapple afghan. I made one for my Mom, myself and three of my daughters. I have used three different patterns in this book by Anne Halliday(Leisure Arts). This one I hope to have finished in time to take to our daughter Rachel and family in Papua New Guinea next September.  I know you probably are wondering why anyone living in the tropics would want an afghan but I watched them all run for their sweatshirts whenever a windy rain storm came along so I know they will cuddle up together under an afghan:)

I chose yellow for Rachie because we called her our little Sunshine when
she was a little girl.  Don't count my double crochets because you may find my
mistakes. I try to always go back and redo. Ugh.

I haven't gotten very far since I mainly work on it when traveling. I am going to 

have to get serious about pineapple crocheting real soon.

Feltin' Fridays

Just sharing some of the projects I have been working on now that I am home for awhile.

Not yet finished or felted. I'm not even sure where I am going with this - two bowls or one and a set of coasters?
However, I love the color - seafoam blue.

I love this little owl. I have another made and waiting for his balloon to be finished.

I made a little trinket box like this for my daughter Sarah and liked it so much I made another. The little
clay bird has a felted wool nest.

So glad that I can stay (creative) busy while we wait for the next chance to look for a new home.

Saying goodbye to my Grandmother

There and Back in Time for Nemo

I am back home in time for Snow Storm Nemo. I'm glad because I would hate that Kate was here alone. Three weeks ago my Mom suddenly got sick and was admitted to the hospital. I went to California and stayed with her for two weeks. It was a scary time but I am so thankful that she is recovering as quickly as she is from it.

We are so proud of Kate...and isn't that lab coat cute on her?

  

Kate stayed home to finish her course at the Institute of Skin Science here in Rye. She should be taking her certification test at the end of February. I sure enjoyed all the facials and back (hot rocks) treatments I received while she was at school:)

On top of being gone for two weeks, we are moving our STUFF  next week into storage as the first step to moving  down south, Georgia maybe? Our free move from John's job expires at the end of this month so if we are going to use it we have to do it now. Probably the only way to get us moving anyway. It is really hard for me to focus very long on anything but my Etsy shop.

Little Paint Pots

Well no paint was involved but these little bowls remind me of watercolor paint.  I'm not sure where the urge to crochet all these colorful little bowls came from but I think I will blame the dreary skies we have had the last week or so.

Before felting...

These were the first three that I made and they inspired me to keep going.
I am enjoying picking out color combinations. My yarn supply has been getting a little
overwhelming but this had the opposite effect. I bought more yarn the other day
because I thought they would make a cute set of bowls.  Ugggh!
